Srinagar, April 2: A tragic road accident near Ghanta Ghar at Lal Chowk claimed the life of a school van driver on Thursday, while two others sustained injuries—students miraculously escaped unhurt.
Officials identified the deceased as Javed Ahmad, 47, from Umairabad, Bemina. He lost control of the van opposite SBI Bank, suffering grievous injuries, and was rushed to SMHS Hospital, where he succumbed despite treatment.
Two other occupants with minor injuries are stable and under care. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the cause.
