(RCom), two former executives of the Reliance ADA Group and a former Chief Investment Officer of the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) in an alleged Rs 3,750-crore cheating case, officials said on Saturday. According to the CBI, its investigation found that LIC had subscribed to non-convertible debentures (NCDs) worth Rs 1,500 crore issued by Reliance Communications in 2012, allegedly based on serious misrepresentations. New Delhi, Oct 3: Delhi Police have seized around 2,101 kg of illegal firecrackers from two vehicles and a storage facility in outer-north Delhi and apprehended three people in connection with the recovery, officials said on Saturday. Acting on specific information about the transportation of a large consignment of firecrackers from Haryana to Delhi through the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II) in Bawana, police intercepted two tempo vehicles on October 1. Lahore, Oct 3: Pakistan’s Punjab police have arrested 13 suspected militants linked to various banned organisations during intelligence-based operations conducted across the province over the past week, officials said on Saturday. According to a spokesperson for the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), security agencies carried out 98 intelligence-based operations during the period. The arrested suspects were allegedly associated with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Al-Qaeda, ISIS and other militant organisations, the spokesperson said. The arrests were made in Lahore, Sargodha, Gujrat, Pakpattan, Rawalpindi, Mandi Bahauddin, Faisalabad, Khushab, Chiniot and Khanewal districts. Nairobi, Oct 3: At least 13 people, most of them Catholic pilgrims, were killed in a multi-vehicle road accident on a highway leading to Kenya’s coastal city of Mombasa, police said on Saturday. Kathmandu, Oct 3: At least six people were killed and 10 others injured after a bus overturned in Nepal’s Gandaki province on Saturday, police said. The bus was travelling to Kathmandu with 18 people on board, including the driver, when the accident occurred in the Daunne area of Nawalparasi district, according to District Police Office Information Officer Anil Pundit. The accident took place along the East-West Highway, resulting in the deaths of six passengers and injuries to 10 others, police said.
