Jammu, Jul 19: In a strategic administrative move, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has appointed Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sachin Kumar Vaishya (IAS), as the interim Chief Executive Officer of the Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Katra. This comes ahead of the scheduled deputation of the current CEO, Anshul Garg (IAS), to the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie.
As per the government order issued on Saturday, Vaishya will assume charge of the Shrine Board’s operations in addition to his current responsibilities as Deputy Commissioner. The arrangement will remain in place from July 21, 2025, until August 16, 2025 — the tenure of Garg’s deputation.
Anshul Garg, a 2013 batch IAS officer, has been selected for central deputation training, prompting this temporary reassignment. Sachin Kumar Vaishya, a 2015 batch IAS officer from the AGMUT cadre, will manage the affairs of one of India’s most revered pilgrimage destinations during this transitional phase.
The move ensures continuity in the administration of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine, which draws millions of pilgrims annually from across India and abroad.
