New Delhi, Aug 25 : Extending its winning streak for the fourth consecutive session, gold appreciated by Rs 2,700 to Rs 1,67,100 per 10 grams in the national capital on Tuesday.
The yellow metal of 99.9 per cent purity had closed at Rs 1,64,400 per 10 grams on Monday.
However, silver took a breather after its three-session rally, with traders booking profits.
The white metal declined by Rs 3,500 to Rs 2,50,000 per kilogram (inclusive of all taxes) from the previous close of Rs 2,53,500 per kg, according to the All India Sarafa Association.
However, in international markets, bullion prices gave up some of their recent gains.
After rising for two sessions, spot gold fell USD 11.87, or 0.26 per cent, to USD 4,639.51 per ounce.
Silver also remained under pressure, falling 1.04 per cent to USD 67.88 per ounce for its second consecutive session of losses.
