Leh, Sept 27: In a step towards youth empowerment and nation building, a two-week Army Attachment-cum-Training Camp for NCC Girl Cadets from Ladakh was organised by Force Ibex Battalion at Phyang under the aegis of Fire and Fury Corps from 15 to 26 September 2025.
A total of 45 selected girl cadets of the 1st Ladakh Battalion NCC, drawn from various educational institutions across the region, participated in the camp. The cadets were warmly welcomed and acclimatised to the daily routine of an Infantry Battalion, giving them a first-hand experience of military discipline and life in the armed forces.
The camp was formally inaugurated with an opening address by the Commanding Officer of 1st Ladakh Battalion NCC, who underscored the purpose and scope of the training. He highlighted the pivotal role of NCC in shaping disciplined, responsible, and patriotic citizens who can contribute meaningfully to society.
Over the course of two weeks, the cadets underwent intensive training in weapon handling and firing, drill, physical training, yoga, and map reading. They also undertook familiarisation visits to important military units and establishments in Leh, which broadened their understanding of the Army’s role in safeguarding the nation, especially in high-altitude and challenging terrains like Ladakh.
The cadets demonstrated zeal, determination, and high standards of discipline, impressing their instructors with their endurance, commitment, and spirit of patriotism. The training was designed not only to instill military skills and leadership qualities but also to foster national unity, character, and self-confidence among the youth of Ladakh.
The camp concluded with cadets pledging to carry forward the lessons of discipline, teamwork, and service to the community, setting an example for their peers across the Union Territory.
