Dehradun, Sept 29: In a heart-warming interaction that highlighted the spirit of national integration, Uttarakhand Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, VSM (Retd), met a group of young students from Bogdang village in Nubra Valley, Ladakh, who are currently on an educational-cum-exposure tour under Operation Sadhbhavana.
The Governor warmly welcomed the children at Raj Bhavan and engaged in an interactive session, listening to their dreams, thoughts, and experiences from their ongoing visit. He described the exchange as deeply enriching, noting the spark of curiosity and determination in their eyes.
“These children represent the limitless strength of our youth. Their enthusiasm to explore new places and embrace the diversity of our great nation reflects the promise of tomorrow’s India,” Lt Gen Singh said.
He emphasised that Operation Sadhbhavana, an initiative of the Indian Army, goes beyond just educational visits. “Such initiatives build bridges of understanding, strengthen cultural bonds, and nurture the spirit of unity and belonging. These young ambassadors of Ladakh are carrying the light of hope for our shared future,” he added.
The students, hailing from one of the remotest villages of Ladakh, shared their excitement about visiting Uttarakhand and witnessing new cultures and traditions. Many of them expressed that the exposure was motivating them to dream bigger and contribute meaningfully to society.
The Governor encouraged the children to pursue their aspirations with confidence and assured them that the nation stands with them in their journey of growth. He also lauded the Indian Army for its continued efforts in reaching out to remote communities through Operation Sadhbhavana, which has been instrumental in promoting education, empowerment, and integration of youth from Ladakh.
The interaction concluded with the Governor conveying his best wishes to the students for their bright future. The visit left the children inspired and reinforced the spirit of unity in diversity.
