Varanasi, Oct 7: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said the vision of a “developed and self-reliant India” envisaged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi can be realised only through collective efforts by every state, district, town and village.
Addressing a programme organised to honour participants of the Seva Yatra who reached Kashi from Vadnagar in Gujarat under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, Adityanath said India has emerged as a secure and prosperous power on the global map under Modi’s leadership.
“Prime Minister Modi began his journey as the chief minister of Gujarat and today 25 successful years of that journey have been completed. I heartily congratulate him on this occasion and convey my greetings to him on behalf of the people of Uttar Pradesh,” he said.
Adityanath said a developed and self-reliant India is Modi’s vision, but it can be achieved only when every district, village, town and state works towards that goal.
He said healthy competition is advancing across the country in the same spirit.
Recalling the 2001 Bhuj earthquake in Gujarat, Adityanath said the entire country was worried at the time about how Gujarat would recover from the disaster.
Under Modi’s “charismatic leadership”, Gujarat rose again and emerged as a model state, he said.
The chief minister said the world had witnessed the transformation of Kashi and UP over the past 12 years.
He alleged that around a decade ago, UP was under the influence of mafias, the safety of women and girls was a concern, traders lived in an atmosphere of fear and there was apprehension of disturbances even during festivals instead of an atmosphere of celebration.
“Under the guidance and leadership of Prime Minister Modi, mafias have been consigned to the dustbin of history, while the Kashi Vishwanath Dham, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya, Maa Vindhyavasini Dham corridor, Maha Kumbh and activities in Mathura-Vrindavan are becoming the identity of a new Uttar Pradesh,” Adityanath said.
He said the journey from Vadnagar to Kashi is not only a tribute to Modi’s commitment to service during his 25 years in public life but also strengthens the spirit of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat”.
Adityanath said young bikers travelled through 10 states, braving heat and rain, and their energy would be useful in fulfilling the resolve of making India a developed nation by 2047.
He said the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, being held from September 17 to October 17, is progressing continuously.
The chief minister also urged the youth to carry forward the message of BJP national president Nitin Nabin and remain prepared for the upcoming programmes.
