Ramban Feb 13 : The final match of the Shaheed Mushtaq Ahmed Memorial Volleyball Tournament, organized under the aegis of Jammu Sector CRPF, was held with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship at Tac Hq 84 Bn CRPF Boom Chanderkote Ramban J&K, on 13 Feb 2026.
The closing function was graced by Sh Arun Gupta JKPS SSP JKP Ramban as the Chief Guest, in the presence of Sh Ranbir Singh Commandant, Sh Vikram Singh Second in Command, Sh Arvin Kumar Dixit Second in Command, Sh Roop Ram Meena Asstt Cdt, Sh Rupesh Kumar Asstt Cdt, families and personnel of 84 Bn CRPF, NOK of Shaheed Mushtaq Ahmed and players and local youths.
During the function, rich tributes were to Shaheed Mushtaq Ahmed and remembered his supreme sacrifice for the nation.
The final match witnessed a thrilling contest between Chenab Warriors Chanderkote and Friends Volleyball Club Chanderkote, drawing a large gathering of sports lovers, and youths. Chenab Warriors Chanderkote emerged as the champion by defeating Friends Volleyball Club Chanderkote in straight sets (25 – 19, 25 – 20 and 25 – 20).
Sh Ranbir Singh Commandant 84 Bn spoke about glorious history of CRPF and its paramount contribution in nation building, interacted with the participants, motivating them to pursue sports as a means of physical and mental fitness, discipline, team spirit and a healthy lifestyle among young citizens. He also assured to continue organizing such events in the future to encourage talent and strengthen bond between CRPF and local populace.
While addressing the gathering, the SSP praised the 84 Bn CRPF for organizing the tournament in honour of Shaheed Mushtaq Ahmed and highlighted the importance of sports in channelizing youth energy in a positive direction.
Trophies, Medals, Certificates, Volleyballs and Nets were distributed to the Winner and Runner-up teams. A shawl and a memento were presented to Veer Nari Smt Rubina Begum. Cultural program and a luncheon were organized for all the players, media personnel, family members and CRPF personnel.
