Kishtwar, June 5: The District Administration Kishtwar on Friday suspended the Shri Machail Mata Yatra 2026 and Shri Mindhal Mata Yatra 2026 for the day owing to adverse weather conditions prevailing across the district.
According to an advisory issued by the administration, the decision was taken in view of continuous rainfall, slippery road conditions and the danger of shooting stones along the yatra routes, which could endanger the safety of pilgrims.
Authorities have advised all devotees not to undertake the pilgrimage on June 5 and to remain at their current safe locations until further instructions are issued.
The suspension order came into effect immediately. Officials said the weather situation is being closely monitored and further decisions regarding the resumption of the yatras will be taken based on prevailing conditions.
The administration reiterated that the safety and well-being of pilgrims remain its top priority and urged the public to follow official advisories.
