Jammu, Feb 19: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha declared Thursday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s unwavering commitment is the safe, dignified return of Kashmiri Pandits to their homeland, as he launched Prof. Ashok Kaul’s book Kashmir-Nativity Regained—a raw recounting of the community’s painful 1990 exodus and enduring struggle.
Speaking at the event, Sinha reflected on J&K’s transformation since 2019: “The adversary’s sinister plot to shatter our dreams lies dismantled. Ancient glory restored, development accelerated—soon, terrorism will be eradicated completely.” He hailed the Pandits’ resilience, saluting how they preserved culture, language, and spirit amid displacement, turning agony into achievement.
Sinha evoked the “profound sorrow” of becoming strangers in one’s own land, vowing never to forget or forgive Pakistan-backed terrorists who massacred Pandits and thousands of Kashmiri Muslims alike. He spotlighted the 2021 migrant portal to reclaim encroached homes and lands, and Article 370’s 2019 scrapping as a beacon for the youth’s fearless return.
Praising Kaul’s work as a silence-breaker, Sinha said it places Pandits at J&K’s narrative core in this reconstruction era. Attendees included Jammu University VC Prof. Umesh Rai, officials like Div Com Ramesh Kumar, and diverse dignitaries.
