Sakti, Apr 28 : A meeting of the Jan Arogya Samiti (JAS) at AAM–Primary Health Centre, Sakti on Monday reviewed the functioning of primary healthcare services, identified gaps in infrastructure and logistics, and called for greater community participation to strengthen service delivery in the region.
The meeting, chaired by Dr. Jigmet Wangchuk, Medical Officer and In-Charge of the facility, brought together healthcare professionals, local representatives, and officials from allied departments to deliberate on operational priorities and accountability mechanisms at the grassroots level.
During the proceedings, Dr. Wangchuk outlined the mandate of the JAS and presented an overview of the health centre’s performance, placing key agenda items related to infrastructure, service delivery, and institutional coordination for discussion. He also reviewed the status of Health Development Fund (HDF) and Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKAS) accounts, underlining the need for financial transparency in managing public health resources.
Among those present were Dr. Tsering Angchuk, Dr. Chesfida, and Dr. Kheroon, along with staff members of PHC Sakti. The meeting also saw participation from Nambardaars of Chemdey, Igoo, Shara, Tagnak, and Sakti, a Junior Engineer from the Public Works Department, and representatives of local educational institutions.
Participants engaged in detailed discussions on improving infrastructure, streamlining logistics, and enhancing coordination between departments and the community. The need for active involvement of local stakeholders in health-related initiatives was repeatedly stressed, with speakers noting that community engagement remains central to effective implementation of healthcare programmes.
All agenda points placed before the committee were approved unanimously, indicating broad consensus among members on measures required to improve healthcare delivery.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Angchuk and Dr. Chesfida, who acknowledged the contributions of attendees and reiterated the importance of sustained collaboration.
The deliberations underscored the continuing efforts of AAM–PHC Sakti to strengthen primary healthcare systems and improve access to essential services through coordinated institutional and community action.
