Paris, October 9: Personal data belonging to 25 of the 36 members of the French government, including Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu, has reportedly been exposed online following cyberattacks, according to a report by French newspaper Le Canard enchaîné.
The report, published on Wednesday, said Lecornu was among approximately 1.5 million customers affected by a 2024 cyberattack targeting French lingerie retailer Le Slip Français.
It further reported that personal information belonging to several other senior government officials had also surfaced online. Those reportedly affected include the ministers responsible for the armed forces, digital technology, labour and health.
The reported exposure has raised concerns about the cybersecurity risks facing government officials and the potential misuse of their personal information.
The full extent of the data exposure and the circumstances under which the information became available online were not immediately clear from the report.
