Kargil, Sept 17: Government High School Youljuk turned into a stage of celebration as the institution organised a felicitation ceremony to honour its students for their recent triumphs in athletics. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of staff and students, with Zulfiqar Ali receiving special recognition for his double victory that has brought pride to the Suru Valley.
Zulfiqar secured the first position in the Ladakh Marathon 2025, five-kilometre category, and replicated his success by winning the 1500-metre race at the Inter-School U-17 Boys’ Athletics, District Level. His classmate, Shujat Hussain, added to the glory of the institution by finishing first in the 800-metre race at the same district meet.
During the ceremony, Zulfiqar was hailed as a “future bright star for the entire Suru Valley,” a sentiment echoed by teachers and peers alike. The Headmaster and staff, while extending their congratulations, reaffirmed the school’s pledge to foster a climate where youthful talent is nurtured and given every opportunity to flourish.
