Kargil: Forty-eight student startup founders and their teams on Tuesday participated in an intensive entrepreneurship training session on the third day of the ongoing Innovation, Design and Entrepreneurship (IDE) Bootcamp at the Kargil Campus of University of Ladakh, where participants received practical exposure to the lean canvas model to strengthen their understanding of startup development and business planning.
The five-day bootcamp, being held from May 11 to 15, has been organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Wadhwani Foundation, with support from the SBI Foundation. The programme is aimed at fostering innovation, entrepreneurship and design thinking among students in Ladakh.
Officials associated with the bootcamp said the Day 3 sessions focused on equipping aspiring entrepreneurs with practical tools for identifying business models, understanding customer needs and developing sustainable startup ideas through the lean canvas framework.
The bootcamp was inaugurated on May 11 in the presence of Mohammad Haji Hanifa Jan, who described such initiatives as crucial for nurturing talent and expanding opportunities for students from remote regions like Ladakh.
During the inaugural session, speakers highlighted the growing academic and research environment at the University of Ladakh and emphasised the need to encourage innovation-led learning and entrepreneurship among youth. Officials from the Ministry of Education and the Wadhwani Foundation noted that the IDE Bootcamp was being conducted simultaneously at 30 institutions across the country as part of efforts to promote self-reliance and innovation-driven education.
Saket Kushwaha was acknowledged for encouraging research, innovation and entrepreneurship initiatives within the university ecosystem. Among those present during the inaugural programme were Faizan Ahmad, Gopal Sharma, Ashiq Hussain Lone, Jaffar Ali Khan and Sonam Lotus.
The organisers said the programme seeks to build a culture of innovation and leadership among students while encouraging them to pursue entrepreneurial solutions relevant to local and regional challenges.
