SRINAGAR, Sept 27: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone Sujit Kumar, IPS, on Sunday visited Budgam district and reviewed the overall security and crime situation during a high-level meeting at the District Police Headquarters.
The meeting was attended by DIG Central Kashmir Range Rajiv Omparkash Pande, IPS, SSP Budgam Hariprasad K K, IPS, and other senior police officers.
During the meeting, the IGP took a detailed assessment of the prevailing security situation, crime prevention measures, investigation of cases, security arrangements and ongoing police operations across the district.
Sujit Kumar directed officers to further strengthen the existing security grid and ensure close coordination among different police formations for an effective and coordinated response to emerging security challenges.
He also stressed the need for timely investigation of criminal cases and appropriate legal action, while directing officers to take effective preventive measures against criminal and anti-social activities.
The IGP called for heightened vigilance and sustained security measures to ensure peace and public safety across Budgam.
SSP Budgam briefed the IGP on the prevailing security and crime scenario in the district and apprised him of various measures being undertaken to strengthen policing, security arrangements and public safety.
The review meeting focused on enhancing operational preparedness, improving coordination among police units and strengthening measures aimed at maintaining peace and security in Budgam district.
