Nubra, Apr 10 : In an effort to enhance access to public services in remote areas, the administration on Thursday conducted the “Jung sJabs” programme at Charasa village in Nubra Sub Division, bringing a range of welfare schemes directly to residents under the Administration at Doorstep initiative.
The outreach programme was led by Tehsildar Sumoor, Tashi Jorgais, who underscored the importance of ensuring that government services reach the last mile. Addressing villagers, he called upon residents to actively engage with the initiative and make use of the services being offered. He also provided clarifications on land revenue matters and responded to public queries.
Officials from various departments organised awareness sessions, explaining the provisions, benefits and procedures associated with different schemes. The camp also served as a platform for grievance redressal, with residents interacting directly with officials and receiving on-the-spot responses.
A wide spectrum of services was delivered during the programme. These included Aadhaar registration, issuance of Resident, Scheduled Tribe and Domicile certificates, generation of ABHA IDs, enrolment under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, facilitation of Kisan Credit Cards, registration under PM-KISAN, and creation of APAAR IDs. Departments of Sheep and Animal Husbandry also distributed essential medicines.
The camp witnessed coordinated participation from multiple departments, including Revenue, Health, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Agriculture, Horticulture and the Block Development Department, ensuring efficient service delivery at the village level.
The initiative drew a strong response from the local population, with a considerable number of residents availing themselves of government schemes and services during the programme, reflecting the administration’s ongoing efforts to extend governance to remote habitations.
