Leh, Mar 28: The Vice-Chancellor of University of Ladakh, Prof. Saket Kushwaha, on Friday held an interaction with class representatives and students at the Leh campus, where a range of academic, infrastructural and welfare-related issues were raised, with assurances of prompt action from the administration.
The session, organised at the Leh campus, served as an open forum for students to articulate their concerns and share suggestions regarding campus life and academic functioning. Participants highlighted matters affecting their studies, facilities and overall student welfare, seeking greater responsiveness from the university authorities.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Kushwaha listened to the representations and assured the students that their grievances would be addressed in a time-bound and effective manner. He underlined the need for sustained engagement between students and the administration, stating that constructive dialogue remains central to fostering a healthy academic environment.
Senior university officials were present during the interaction, including Dean Academic Affairs Dr. Subrat Sharma, Dean Research Studies Dr. Sonam Joldan, Chief Proctor Dr. Phuntsok Angmo, Dean Commerce and Management Dr. Mohd. Rafee, Dean of Students’ Welfare Dr. Stanzin Mantok, and Assistant Registrar Ms. Jigmet Chondol.
Students welcomed the initiative and participated actively in the discussion, describing it as an opportunity to directly communicate their concerns to the university leadership. Several participants also shared suggestions aimed at improving academic delivery and campus infrastructure.
The interaction concluded with a renewed emphasis on student-focused governance and ongoing institutional improvement. A formal vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. Skarma Desal Angmo, a postgraduate student of Economics at the university.
