Leh, Jul 18: The University of Ladakh opened a week-long Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Research Methodology and Data Analytics: A Hands-on Programme” through an online event today. The initiative is held in partnership with Hindu College Moradabad (affiliated with Guru Jambheshwar University, Uttar Pradesh), the Department of Agricultural Economics at Banaras Hindu University (BHU), and Rajiv Gandhi University.
The virtual ceremony began with a formal introduction of the guests by Dr. Qutsia Tabasum. Dr. Subrat Sharma, Dean of Research at the University of Ladakh, welcomed all participants and institutions involved.
Dr. S.S. Rawat, Principal of Hindu College Moradabad, spoke on the growing importance of collaboration in academic circles and the value of blending various fields in the current data-centric environment. Prof. Virendra Kamalvansh, Head of Agricultural Economics at BHU, stressed the need for faculty members to strengthen their research skills, particularly in methods and analysis.
Chief Guest Prof. R.S. Dubey, Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Gujarat, applauded the programme for encouraging universities to advance their research culture. He pointed out the role of such initiatives in shaping better academic outcomes and promoting scholarly growth.
Presiding over the event, Prof. Saket Kushwaha, Vice Chancellor of the University of Ladakh, reaffirmed the university’s focus on improving the region’s research environment. He urged faculty members to explore data tools that could support impactful academic work.
Dr. Punam Kumari closed the session with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the joint efforts of the organizing institutions, guest speakers, and attendees.
Over the next week, participants will take part in hands-on sessions led by experienced experts, aimed at developing core skills in research techniques and data handling.
