Leh, Jan 31: In a moment of immense pride for Ladakh, Commandant Tashi Namgyal has scripted history by becoming the first officer from the region to be promoted to the prestigious rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).
The promotion ceremony was held at the North West Frontier (NWF) of ITBP, where Inspector General Dr. Akun Sabharwal-IPS formally conferred the rank insignia during a dignified pipping ceremony.
