Leh: Shree Raam R, IPS, assumed office as the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Leh on Monday, marking the beginning of a new administrative tenure for district policing. Upon his arrival at the District Police Office (DPO) Leh, he was accorded a Guard of Honour before holding his first interaction with the district’s senior officers.
In the introductory meeting, the newly appointed SSP was briefed on the overall policing landscape of Leh. Senior officers—including the Additional SP Leh and both SDPOs—outlined manpower deployment, crime figures, emerging crime patterns, accident-prone stretches, and the functioning of check-posts across the district. The operational status of the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS-112) was also reviewed as part of the detailed orientation.
The Additional SP presented an overview of the district’s jurisdiction, organisational structure, and day-to-day operational responsibilities, offering the new SSP a broad assessment of ongoing challenges and priorities.
District Police Leh stated that it anticipates working under the leadership of SSP Shree Raam R while continuing its focus on public safety, community outreach, and effective law-and-order management in the region.
