Khaltse, Apr 26 : Concerns over local development and access to public services came to the fore on Saturday as residents of Khaltse village engaged with officials during the Outreach Programme “Jung-sJabs,” held under the Administration at Doorstep initiative in Sub-Division Khaltse.
Led by Nambardar Stanzin Phurboo, villagers articulated a range of issues, pressing for timely interventions and improved service delivery. The outreach camp, chaired by Naib Tehsildar Abdul Samad, provided a platform for direct interaction, enabling residents to place their grievances before officials from multiple departments assembled on site.
Responding to the concerns, Abdul Samad outlined the intent of the initiative, stating that such programmes are designed to reduce administrative distance and ensure that government schemes reach remote habitations. He also briefed attendees on revenue-related services while assuring that the issues flagged would be taken up with the relevant authorities.
Officials representing departments including Revenue, Agriculture, Horticulture, Sheep Husbandry, Rural Development Department, District Social Welfare Department Leh, and CRISIL Foundation participated in the camp, offering clarifications on welfare schemes and recording public feedback for follow-up action.
Alongside grievance redressal, the camp facilitated on-the-spot delivery of essential services. Residents were issued Ladakh Resident Certificates, provided electoral assistance, and given access to revenue extracts, streamlining processes that otherwise require visits to administrative offices.
The presence of J&K Bank’s Khaltse branch added a financial outreach dimension, with officials assisting villagers in availing banking products such as Kisan Credit Cards, personal and car loans, insurance services, fixed and recurring deposits, and CKYC registration.
The programme reflects the administration’s ongoing push to combine service delivery with public consultation, particularly in remote areas, where such engagements serve both as a feedback mechanism and a means to extend institutional support closer to communities.
