Srinagar, Jun 3: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday refuted reports claiming that a key meeting of ministers, legislators and Members of Parliament was shifted at the last minute from his Gupkar residence to Chashma Shahi.
Addressing the speculation through a post on X, the Chief Minister said the meeting venue had not been changed abruptly and that the decision to hold the gathering at an off-site location had been made well in advance.
“I’m sorry to disappoint you but it has NOT ‘been shifted at the last moment’. It was always my intention to conduct this meeting off-site and all arrangements have been made, days in advance, at the location originally chosen by me,” Abdullah said.
The clarification came amid reports suggesting that ministers, legislators and MPs were redirected from the Chief Minister’s Gupkar residence to the designated venue near Chashma Shahi shortly before the meeting.
With his statement, the Chief Minister sought to dispel claims of a last-minute venue change, asserting that the arrangements had been finalised several days before the meeting.
