Leh : The Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre on Saturday organised meditation and yoga sessions in Leh as part of the ongoing exposition of the Holy Relics of Tathagata Buddha, drawing participation from monks, devotees, students and army personnel.
The sessions, held under the guidance of Bhikku Sanghasena, Founder President of MIMC, sought to deepen the spiritual engagement of visitors attending the relics exposition. Yoga practices were led by Dr I.V. Bassavarddi, who conducted structured routines focusing on breathing, posture and mental discipline.
A diverse gathering, including members of the local community, students of Mahabodhi institutions and personnel from the armed forces, participated in the sessions. The congregation reflected a blend of spiritual devotion and community involvement, with attendees engaging in guided meditation and prayer in a calm and contemplative setting.
Organisers said the initiative was aimed at promoting mindfulness and inner balance during the sacred occasion, complementing the significance of the relics exposition. The sessions were designed to encourage participants to adopt practices fostering mental clarity and emotional stability.
The exposition of the Holy Relics has been witnessing steady participation in Leh, with MIMC facilitating a series of spiritual activities alongside the display. The meditation and yoga sessions form part of these efforts to create an environment conducive to reflection and collective harmony.
Officials indicated that similar sessions are expected to continue during the course of the exposition, offering visitors further opportunities to engage in structured spiritual practices.
