JAMMU, APR 14: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha attended the upgradation ceremony of ‘Apna Bhojanalaya’ at Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu on Tuesday, underscoring the importance of affordable, nutritious meals for patients’ attendants.
Speaking at the event, Sinha praised Sewa Bharti’s initiative, calling it a “beacon of compassion” that eases the financial burden on families in medical emergencies. He highlighted that the upgraded facility will further strengthen social support around public healthcare institutions and urged more such welfare measures in the health sector.
‘Apna Bhojanalaya’ at GMC Jammu, which has served hundreds of meals a day at subsidised rates, is run in collaboration with Sewa Bharti and the GMC administration. Sinha said the model should be replicated at other hospitals to make healthcare more humane and inclusive.
