SRINAGAR, APR 14: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has warned that “no one will be allowed to disturb peace” in the Union Territory, saying some elements are trying to push the region into “jungle raj”.
The CM emphasised that the government would act firmly against such forces, amid a recent spate of violence and vigilantism‑linked incidents, including cow‑vigilante assaults and attacks on security personnel in border areas.
Abdullah’s statement echoes his earlier condemnations of mob violence, in which he had said he would not permit “jungle raj” in J&K and had pledged strict action against those indulging in illegal vigilantism or fuelling chaos. Party leaders have also underlined that the focus will remain on rule of law, public safety, and restoring confidence among all communities.
