New Delhi/Leh: Students from Ladakh, along with members of the Trans-Himalayan community in Delhi, marked the Ladakhi New Year, Losar, in a simple yet deeply meaningful manner at the National Museum, New Delhi. The programme was organised by Flowering Dharma and brought together participants for a calm and reflective beginning to the New Year.
The highlight of the gathering was the taking of the Aspirational Bodhisattva Vows, led by Venerable Geshe Dorjee Damdul la (Director Tibet House Delhi) The ceremony was conducted in a serene atmosphere, with participants setting clear intentions and beginning Losar through mindfulness, shared vision, and spiritual reflection.
The venue added special significance to the occasion. The Buddha Relics preserved at the National Museum are revered as sacred reminders of the Buddha’s enlightened life and teachings. Being in their presence inspired mindfulness, compassion, and humility among the participants, grounding the celebration in reverence and historical continuity. Beginning Losar in such an auspicious setting was described as both meaningful and spiritually uplifting.
The programme began with a welcome address by senior member Stanzin Phuntsok, who warmly received Geshe Dorjee Damdul and the students.
This was followed by a vote of thanks delivered by Jikmet Dolker, In-charge of the Delhi Chapter of Flowering Dharma. Geshe Samdub, Director of Flowering Dharma, was also present on the occasion. He presented traditional khataks and Losar gifts to Geshe-la and conveyed New Year greetings to all participants.
Organisers expressed sincere gratitude to everyone who attended and contributed to the warm, positive, and reflective atmosphere of the gathering.
