Leh, Apr 14 : Placing a sharp focus on bridging local scholarship with global academic practices, the University of Ladakh on Monday hosted an intensive session on “Research Methodology and Internship Opportunities Abroad,” with experts underlining the growing relevance of structured research and international exposure in shaping future scholars.
Organised by the Department of Mathematics in collaboration with the Women’s Forum of India, the session drew a cross-section of students, research scholars and faculty members, reflecting a widening interest in multidisciplinary research and overseas academic engagement.
Held under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof. Saket Kushwaha, the programme was supported administratively by Registrar Nawang Tundup and guided academically by Dean Academic Affairs Dr. Subrat Sharma. Dr. Kunzes Dolma, founder of the Women’s Forum of India, was also present.
The session was anchored by Ramcharan Vijayaraghavan, Vice President of Polar Educators International, who delivered a detailed exposition on the fundamentals of research methodology. Drawing upon frameworks outlined in the National Education Policy 2020, he emphasised the need for methodological rigour and interdisciplinary approaches, particularly in regions such as Ladakh where research potential remains underexplored.
Vijayaraghavan further mapped out avenues for securing internships abroad, outlining application processes, digital platforms and the broader academic value of international exposure. His address resonated with participants, many of whom engaged in an extended interaction seeking clarity on research pathways and global opportunities.
Among those present were Dean Colleges Dr. Jigmat Deachen, alongside coordinators and faculty from various departments. Registrar Nawang Tundup urged students to draw maximum benefit from such engagements, while Dr. Kunzes Dolma offered an overview of the initiatives undertaken by the Women’s Forum of India in promoting academic empowerment.
The session forms part of a continuing series of expert lectures initiated in accordance with the advisory of the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, aimed at strengthening research orientation within the academic ecosystem.
The proceedings concluded with a vote of thanks by Sonam Padma Wangmo.
Through such initiatives, the University of Ladakh is steadily advancing its academic agenda, encouraging its student community to engage with wider research networks and emerging global opportunities.
