Leh, Mar 31: The Meteorological Centre in Leh has reported light snowfall at Zojila Pass, while Drass witnessed cloudy conditions on Tuesday morning. The rest of Ladakh remained partly cloudy, indicating relatively calm weather across the region.
According to the latest update, weather conditions are expected to remain largely stable over the coming days. Skies are likely to stay mainly clear to partly cloudy until April 2. Between April 3 and 4, cloud cover may increase, with conditions ranging from partly to generally cloudy. Thereafter, from April 5 to 7, the region is expected to witness fair to partly cloudy weather, with no forecast of any major rainfall or snowfall during this period.
The department has not issued any weather warning for the region. However, an advisory has been circulated highlighting potential risks associated with rising temperatures. Authorities have cautioned that increasing temperatures may trigger avalanches or landslides in vulnerable stretches, particularly along Zojila Pass and Shinkula Pass. Travelers and commuters have been urged to exercise caution while passing through these areas.
Air travel operations are expected to remain largely unaffected, with only a very low possibility of disruption during the forecast period.
Residents and visitors have been advised to stay updated with real-time weather and road condition reports to ensure safe travel and daily activities.
The Meteorological Centre Leh continues to monitor the situation closely and will issue updates as necessary.
