Khaltse, Apr 2: In a move aimed at widening administrative outreach and ensuring last-mile delivery of welfare services, the Sub-Divisional Administration Khaltse on Wednesday launched the “Jung sJabs” programme under the Administration at Doorstep initiative, commencing with camps in Nurla and Tar/Hepti villages.

The programme, initiated on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner Leh, was formally inaugurated by Sub-Divisional Magistrate Khaltse, Mohd Sharif. The initiative is designed to bridge the gap between the administration and rural populations by bringing government services directly to the people.

On its opening day, multiple departments—including Revenue, Sheep Husbandry, Animal Husbandry, Health, Agriculture, Horticulture, and the District Social Welfare Department Leh—set up service counters, alongside representatives from J&K Bank Khaltse. The coordinated presence of departments ensured that residents could access a broad range of services without the need to travel to administrative offices.

Addressing gatherings at both locations, the SDM outlined the objectives of the outreach programme and called upon residents to actively engage with the initiative to secure benefits under various government schemes.

The camps facilitated on-the-spot delivery of key services such as issuance of Resident Certificates, provision of revenue extracts, and Aadhaar updates. Officials also conducted awareness sessions to familiarise villagers with ongoing schemes across sectors including agriculture, health, and social welfare.

A notable feature of the programme at Tar/Hepti village was the presentation of digitised land records by the Revenue Department. Officials displayed updated land record maps and publicly read out details of individual landholders as part of the ongoing publication process under the Digital India Land Records Modernisation Programme (DILRMP), enhancing transparency and accessibility of land-related information.

Naib Tehsildars Asgar Ali and Mohd Iqbal, along with officials from participating departments, remained present throughout the camps, addressing public grievances and facilitating immediate redressal wherever possible.

The outreach drive witnessed active participation from residents of both villages, with many availing services and seeking clarifications regarding government schemes. Locals expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that the doorstep delivery model reduced the need for repeated visits to government offices.

The Administration at Doorstep initiative, through programmes such as “Jung sJabs,” is expected to continue across other villages in Sub Division Khaltse in the coming days, with a focus on improving accessibility, awareness, and efficiency in public service delivery.
