New Delhi/Kargil, Mar 17: A high-level delegation of Jamiat-ul-Ulama Isna Asharia Kargil (JUIAK Ladakh), headed by its President Hujjat-ul-Islam Sheikh Nazir Mehdi Mohammadi, called on the Representative of the Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Dr. Abdul Majid Hakim Elahi, during a visit marked by expressions of condolence and solidarity.
During the meeting, the delegation conveyed condolences over the reported martyrdom of the Supreme Leader, Grand Ayatollah Syed Ali Hussaini Khamenei (R.A). The members also expressed anguish over the ongoing conflict involving Iran, attributing the situation to actions by the United States and Israel, and extended sympathy to those affected.
The delegation paid tribute to those who lost their lives in recent incidents in Iran, including schoolchildren killed in the Minab school attack, as well as senior military officials, personnel, and civilians. They described the loss of innocent lives as deeply distressing and reiterated their support for the people of Iran during the period of turmoil.
Ayatollah Dr. Hakim Elahi, in his response, acknowledged the sentiments conveyed by the delegation and expressed appreciation for the response from the people of Kargil. He referred to the mourning processions, protest demonstrations, and condolence gatherings held across the region, noting that such expressions reflected a sense of unity and shared grief.
He also thanked the leadership and members of JUIAK Kargil, along with the broader community, for their outreach and solidarity efforts.
The interaction comes amid heightened tensions in the region, with community organisations in Kargil actively voicing their positions through public gatherings and statements.
