Leh, Sept 19: Government Degree College (GDC) Nobra registered a remarkable double victory at the University of Ladakh Ideathon held on 18 September 2025, clinching the top two positions in separate categories.
In the Indian Knowledge System and Culture category, students Naziya Anjum and Padma Choskey secured the first prize with their novel product Whiffs from Ldumra, incense sticks crafted using locally sourced ingredients. The jury commended the project for its originality and rooted approach to culture.
Adding to the institution’s success, students Sanju Kumari and Seddiqua Anjum bagged the second position in the Agriculture and Food Processing category. Their entry, Apricot Bliss Balls, impressed evaluators for combining nutritional value with appealing packaging, while drawing upon local produce.
The Ideathon, supported by the Entrepreneurship Development Cell of the University of Ladakh, provided a platform for young innovators to transform creative concepts into workable models. Organisers noted that the initiative was designed to foster student participation in idea development and presentation at the university level.
Principal Rigzin Sandup, along with the faculty of GDC Nobra, extended congratulations to the winning teams and praised their dedication. The achievements were celebrated as a reflection of the students’ ingenuity and commitment to promoting local resources through innovation.
