Leh, Jul 15: The Regional Office of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) in Ladakh has launched an awareness drive to promote the newly introduced Employment Linked Incentive Scheme, unveiled in the latest Union Budget. The initiative, rolled out under the Ministry of Labour and Employment, aims to encourage formal employment in sectors vital to Ladakh’s economy.
The campaign began with a session led by Accounts Officer Akshat Ahlawat and Section Supervisor Sandeep Kumar at the EPFO Regional Office in Leh. The outreach is targeting employers in the hospitality and service industries, with efforts focused on explaining the benefits of the scheme and the process for participation.
As part of the initiative, EPFO officials met with prominent local hoteliers, including Shri Danish Din of Hotel The Grand Dragon and Skarma Dhelex of Hotel Tsokar Retreat. Discussions centered on the financial incentives available to employers who create formal job opportunities and comply with social security norms.
Akshat Ahlawat highlighted the importance of extending such schemes to remote areas like Ladakh, noting the potential for boosting job creation while strengthening the safety net for workers. He urged eligible businesses to engage with the campaign and explore how the scheme can support their workforce goals.
The campaign will expand in the coming weeks, reaching other sectors and districts across the Union Territory to broaden awareness and promote wider adoption.
