Leh, Aug 29: The School Education Department of the Union Territory of Ladakh has issued an order mapping eight posts of Principals and eight posts of Headmasters to newly upgraded Higher Secondary Schools (HSS) and High Schools (HS) across the districts of Leh and Kargil.
As per Order No. 44-LA(SED) of 2025, dated August 28, the allocation of eight posts of Level–10A, equivalent to the post of Principal, has been made to the recently upgraded Higher Secondary Schools.
The schools under Leh district include HSS Chushul, HSS Housing Colony, HSS Thiksay, and HSS Wanla, while in Kargil district, the posts are mapped to HSS Phey, HSS Choskore, HSS Khangral, and HSS GM Pore.
Similarly, eight posts of Headmasters in Pay Level–8A have been mapped to newly upgraded High Schools. Under Leh district, the schools are HS Kharnakling, HS Chulunkha, HS Lingshed, and HS Yourgo. In Kargil district, the upgraded schools are HS Sapi, HS Chulichan, HS Apati, and HS Farooona.
The order, issued with the approval of the Competent Authority, follows an earlier directive of the General Administration Department, UT Ladakh, regarding allocation of posts.
This move comes as part of the ongoing effort to strengthen school administration by appointing Principals and Headmasters to institutions recently upgraded to Higher Secondary and High School levels.
