Ladakh University celebrates Teachers’ Day
Leh, Sept 04: “Teachers should not only impart existing knowledge but also explore and share the uncovered realms of learning,” declared the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ladakh while addressing the Teachers’ Day celebration at Leh Campus. He stressed that educators must instill resilience and prepare students to face life’s hurdles with strength and confidence.
The programme, organised by the Students’ Council to mark the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, brought together deans, coordinators, faculty members, and students in a spirited gathering. A traditional welcome with khataks greeted the teachers, while Dean Students’ Welfare, Dr. Yangchan Dolma, extended the ceremonial greeting to the Vice-Chancellor.
Students voiced their appreciation through reflections that echoed gratitude. Padma Angmo of Political Science, Peyush Jaat of Physical Education, and Stanzin Palkit of History recounted the influence of their teachers, noting that guidance extended far beyond academics to the shaping of values, vision, and character. Their words reinforced the enduring bond between teachers and learners.
Applauding the initiative of the Students’ Council, the Vice-Chancellor hailed the celebration as a tribute of respect towards the teaching community. The event, moderated by Sonam Angmo of History and Mohd. Vilayat of Economics, concluded with a reaffirmation of the vital role of teachers in nurturing responsible citizens.
