ANANTNAG : Police in Anantnag have arrested a drug peddler identified as Ashiq Ahmad Bhat during a targeted operation, officials said.
The accused, a resident of Pazalpora Bijbehara, was apprehended after police recovered 505 grams of a charas-like substance from his possession.
Following the recovery, FIR No. 125/2026 has been registered at Police Station Bijbehara under relevant sections of the NDPS Act (Section 8/20), officials added.
Police said further investigation is underway to identify backward and forward linkages in the case and to dismantle the wider drug network.
