Kishtwar, May 13: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Wednesday said it has arrested two alleged associates of the Saifullah group for reportedly providing shelter and logistical support to foreign terrorists in the Singhpora area of Chatroo in Kishtwar district.
An official said the accused were involved in facilitating a terrorist hideout at Singhpora, Chatroo. In this connection, FIR No. 03/2026 has been registered at Police Station Chatroo under Sections 61(2), 109, 147, 148 of the BNS, Sections 13, 16, 18, 19, 20 of the UAPA, and Section 7/27 of the Arms Act.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kishtwar Naresh Singh, JKPS, said the operation led to the arrest of Mashkoor Ahmed, a resident of Beighpora, Singhpora, Kishtwar, who is employed in the School Education Department. He was allegedly involved in providing direct assistance and logistical support to terrorists, officials said, adding that his arrest has disrupted key support structures for militant activities in the area.
Earlier, another accused, Maneer Ahmed of Bandeyan Naidgam, was also arrested in the same case.
Police said investigations are ongoing to identify and dismantle the wider network involved in aiding terrorists, with further arrests expected.
J&K Police reiterated its “zero-tolerance” approach towards terrorism and its support ecosystem, stating that efforts will continue to ensure that those involved are brought to justice under due process.
