LEH: Young learners from PM Spituk Dhumra visited the Balvatika room at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Leh, where they participated in a range of interactive and experiential learning activities designed to promote creativity, confidence and holistic development.

The educational excursion provided students with an engaging learning environment that combined art, innovation and performance-based activities. The visit witnessed enthusiastic participation from children, transforming the programme into a vibrant and enriching experience for both students and teachers.

One of the major attractions of the visit was a creative drawing session, during which students expressed their imagination through colourful artwork and visual storytelling. The activity encouraged self-expression while nurturing artistic skills among the young learners.

Students also explored the Tinkers Wall, where they engaged in hands-on activities aimed at stimulating curiosity, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. The interactive setup allowed children to learn through exploration and experimentation.

The visit further featured stage performances that provided students with an opportunity to overcome stage apprehension and develop self-confidence. Through public speaking and performance activities, the children showcased their talents while enhancing their communication skills.

Nine accompanying teachers facilitated the learning sessions and recreational activities, ensuring that the programme remained both educational and enjoyable. Their guidance helped create an atmosphere that encouraged participation, collaboration and confidence-building among the students.

The excursion highlighted the value of experiential learning approaches that blend creativity, play and performance with academic development. Educators observed that such activities contribute significantly to nurturing imagination, emotional expression and self-assurance among young learners.

The programme concluded on a positive note, leaving students with memorable experiences and reinforcing the importance of innovative learning spaces in supporting the overall development of children.
