Leh, May 15 : The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Leh on Thursday hosted students and teachers of UT Model Government Middle School, Ibex Colony, as part of an educational exposure visit aimed at encouraging experiential and activity-based learning among young learners.
The visit, conducted in an interactive and student-friendly atmosphere, introduced the students to various academic sections of DIET Leh, including the Balvatika Model Room and other learning spaces designed to promote innovative teaching practices.
Faculty members of DIET Leh guided the visiting students through the campus facilities and explained the role of modern pedagogical methods, creative classroom activities and child-centred learning approaches in contemporary education.
Students actively participated in demonstrations and showed keen interest in the educational models, teaching aids and laboratory resources displayed during the visit. Particular enthusiasm was witnessed during their interaction with the contextualised Jadui Pitara Box, locally referred to as “Mig Thrul Gi Gum”, which has been developed to support playful and experiential learning among children.
The students also explored the Balvatika model setup at DIET Leh, where they engaged in hands-on activities aimed at strengthening foundational learning through interactive educational tools and visual learning materials.
Teachers accompanying the students appreciated the efforts of DIET Leh in creating an engaging academic environment that encourages curiosity, creativity and practical understanding beyond conventional classroom teaching.
They observed that such exposure visits play an important role in widening students’ educational perspectives while motivating them to participate more actively in learning processes.
Faculty members of DIET Leh expressed gratitude to UT Model Government Middle School, Ibex Colony, for organising the visit and encouraging students to experience innovative educational practices outside the routine classroom setting.
