Leh, Sept 12: Educators and language experts from across Leh district gathered at DIET Leh this week to review and re-edit Bhoti textbooks for Classes Nursery to VIII, focusing on enhancing clarity, cultural representation, and relevance for students. The programme, conducted from September 8 to 12 under the guidance of the Hon’ble Deputy Chairman of LAHDC Leh, highlighted efforts to preserve Ladakhi language and heritage while integrating themes of Indian patriotism.
During the workshop, participants conducted in-depth discussions on the content and recommended incorporating indigenous terms that reflect local culture and identity. The collaborative exercise aimed to make the textbooks more contextually meaningful and accessible for young learners.
The programme concluded today with a felicitation ceremony, where the experts were honoured with traditional khataks by HOD Smt. Tsering Yangdol and HOD Smt. Sonam Lamu of DIET Leh, marking the successful completion of the review and re-editing process.
