Leh, Jan 20: The Leh Autonomous Hill Development Subordinate Services Recruitment Board (LAHD-SSRB) on Tuesday conducted the second day of counselling for provisionally shortlisted candidates under the Matriculation Level Examination at Paras Hall, Boys Higher Secondary School, Leh.
The counselling exercise is being held for 346 posts advertised by the board and aims to record post and department preferences of shortlisted candidates. As per the prescribed procedure, candidates were called strictly in order of merit and were given the option to select the post for which they had qualified, followed by the choice of department against the available vacancies.
Officials informed that candidates with higher merit were accorded priority during the selection process, ensuring adherence to the merit-based system. After post allocation, candidates were allowed to exercise their departmental preference based on vacancy positions.
The counselling proceedings were overseen by Secretary, LAHD-SSRB and Deputy Director, District Employment and Counselling Centre, Leh, Rehmatullah Butt, who briefed candidates in detail about the counselling mechanism. He guided them on filling the required forms and urged candidates facing any difficulty or confusion to approach the officers deputed at the venue for assistance.
Officials maintained that the counselling process was conducted in a transparent and orderly manner, strictly following the prescribed Standard Operating Procedures. Equal opportunity was ensured for all candidates throughout the process, with necessary facilitation provided on the spot.
The counselling will continue as per the schedule notified earlier by the board for the remaining shortlisted candidates.
