Leh, Apr 10: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) district unit in Leh on Friday issued a condolence message following the sudden demise of Colonel Sonam Wangchuk earlier in the day.
In a statement released from its district office, the party said it was “deeply saddened” by the loss and described the late officer as someone who had devoted his life to the service of the nation and society.
“It is difficult to come to terms with the loss of someone who dedicated his life so selflessly to the nation and to the people around him,” the statement read.
The party noted that Colonel Wangchuk was remembered not only for his role as an officer but also for his personal qualities, including humility, discipline, and a compassionate outlook. It added that those who knew him would remember his warmth, guidance, and steadfast nature.
“His absence will be deeply felt, but his values and legacy will continue to live on,” the statement said.
Extending condolences to the bereaved family, the BJP’s Leh unit said it hoped they would find strength in his life and the affection he shared with others. The message also included a prayer for the departed soul.
The condolence note was issued by Rigzin Chubi, District President of BJP Leh.
