Khaltsi, Sept 17: A major health awareness and outreach initiative focusing on women’s health and family welfare was inaugurated today at the Community Health Centre in Khaltsi under the “Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan.” The campaign, set to run until October 2, aims to bring preventive healthcare, counselling, and medical services directly to the community, particularly targeting women and adolescents.
During the opening ceremony, health officials stressed that women’s well-being forms the foundation of a healthy family and society. Doctors, medical officers, ANMs, ASHAs, and other frontline workers actively engaged with local residents to encourage participation and ensure the programme’s reach extends to even the most remote areas.
The initiative will include screening for non-communicable diseases, detection of anaemia, hypertension, diabetes, and cervical cancer, alongside awareness drives on nutrition, hygiene, and adolescent health. Preventive healthcare measures form a significant part of the outreach, aiming to empower individuals with knowledge and early intervention opportunities.
Local residents welcomed the programme, expressing optimism that such efforts will improve healthcare access and awareness throughout the Khaltsi sub-division. The campaign will continue at various Primary Health Centres across the subdivision until October 2, supporting national objectives of promoting community health and family welfare.
