New Delhi, Dec 16: Parliament was informed on Tuesday that Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), Assam Rifles, and NSG personnel recorded 438 suicides and 7 fratricide incidents over the last three years, alongside 23,360 resignations since 2014.
Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai shared force-wise data in a Lok Sabha reply, noting suicides dropped from 157 in 2023 to 133 in 2025. CRPF topped with 159 cases, followed by BSF (120) and CISF (60). Fratricides stood at 2 in 2023, 1 in 2024, and 4 in 2025.
Resignations were highest in BSF (7,493), CRPF (7,456), and CISF (4,137), with 3,077 recorded in 2025 alone—BSF leading at 1,157.
Rai highlighted 8-hour shifts adjusted for operations, 75 days annual leave (60 earned + 15 casual), mental health support via hospitals, and wellness programs like yoga and stress workshops to address personnel welfare.
