Sydney, Dec 16: A father-son duo carried out Australia’s worst mass shooting in three decades, killing 15 people—including a child—during a Hanukkah celebration near Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach, authorities revealed.
The attack unfolded on a warm summer evening in one of the city’s most vibrant public spaces, with gunfire shattering the festive gathering. One of the attackers died at the scene, raising the death toll to 16.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese condemned the violence as “antisemitic terrorism that struck at the heart of the nation,” vowing a thorough investigation into the perpetrators from western Sydney who used legally owned guns.
