Leh, Apr 12: PT Kunzang, General Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Union Territory of Ladakh, on Saturday expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Colonel Sonam Wangchuk, a decorated veteran of the Kargil War, recalling his enduring contribution to the nation and his lasting influence on the region.
In an official condolence message issued from the party’s state office in Leh, Kunzang, on behalf of the party leadership and its members, paid tribute to the Maha Vir Chakra awardee, describing him as a soldier whose courage under fire and unwavering sense of duty stood as a benchmark of military excellence. The message noted that Colonel Wangchuk’s service during the Kargil conflict brought honour to the country and pride to Ladakh.
