New Delhi, Jan 8: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday emphasized that counter-terror operations targeting terrorist infrastructure and financing networks must continue in “mission mode,” while assuring that all necessary resources will be provided to achieve a “terror-free” Jammu and Kashmir at the earliest.
Chairing a high-level security review meeting on the Union Territory, Shah directed security agencies to maintain vigilance and work in coordination to sustain the gains achieved following the abrogation of Article 370. He assured full resource support for this objective.
The meeting was attended by J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Kumar Deka, and the UT’s Chief Secretary and DGP. Senior officers and heads of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) were also present.
Commending the security agencies for improving the UT’s security situation, Shah stressed that “counter-terror operations targeting terrorist infrastructure and terror financing in mission mode should be continued.”
He said the government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership remains committed to establishing lasting peace in J&K and completely eliminating terrorism.
Reaffirming the zero-tolerance policy against terrorism, Shah stated that sustained and coordinated efforts by the Modi government have crippled the terror ecosystem in J&K, according to an official statement.
