Kargil: The Army Goodwill School (AGS) Drass came alive with colour, creativity and youthful energy as it celebrated its Annual Day on December 6, 2025, drawing an enthusiastic gathering of over 200 proud parents, students and community members.
Set against the breathtaking yet harsh landscape of Drass—one of the coldest inhabited places on earth—the event became a warm celebration of talent, culture and academic spirit, showcasing how the region’s young minds continue to rise above challenges.
Students of AGS Drass presented a series of engaging cultural programmes, including traditional Ladakhi dance, patriotic songs, thematic skits and musical renditions. Each performance reflected the unique ethnic diversity and artistic heritage of the region, drawing loud applause from the audience.
Teachers highlighted that extensive preparation and teamwork went into the event, helping students build confidence, improve stage presence and develop collaborative skills.
A special art exhibition was curated for the occasion, featuring paintings, sketches and craftwork created by students. Their work depicted themes ranging from local life and nature to national pride and emerging social issues.
Parents and guests commended the creativity and perspective displayed by the young artists.
AGS Drass, run under the Indian Army’s Operation Sadbhavana, has long been a pillar of quality education in the region.
