Leh: BVN School organized a combined educational and cultural excursion for its students to the Alchi Hydro Project and the historic Alchi Monastery in Leh district, Ladakh. The visit was designed to provide students with practical
exposure to renewable energy initiatives alongside an appreciation of Ladakh’s rich cultural heritage.
At the Alchi Hydro Project, engineers briefed the students on the functioning of hydroelectric power generation, water resource management, and the role of clean energy in sustainable development. The interactive session inspired students to connect classroom learning with real-world applications.
The visit to the Alchi Monastery, renowned for its ancient murals and Buddhist heritage, offered students a glimpse into Ladakh’s spiritual and cultural traditions. Teachers guided the students through the monastery’s historical significance, emphasizing the importance of preserving cultural monuments.
Principal Gopal Singh stated that such visits embody the school’s vision of value-based, experiential education, blending modern scientific knowledge with cultural enrichment.
He highlighted that Ladakh’s unique geography and heritage provide immense opportunities for holistic learning.
The students expressed enthusiasm at witnessing both modern engineering and timeless art, pledging to contribute towards sustainable practices and cultural preservation.
The program concluded with In-charge Nighat Praveen extending heartfelt thanks to the project authorities and monastery representatives for their support and hospitality.
