BARAMULLA, JUNE 20 : The District Magistrate of Baramulla has imposed restrictions under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, around 11 examination centres to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination scheduled for June 21.
According to an order issued by District Magistrate Syeed Fakhrudin Hamid (IAS), the restrictions will remain in force within a 200-metre radius of the designated centres from 10 am until the conclusion of the examination.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the re-examination from 2 pm to 5 pm, with an additional hour allotted to PwD/PwBD candidates.
Only candidates carrying valid admit cards and identity documents will be allowed entry. Examination staff, including invigilators, observers and other authorised personnel, will be permitted access after verification and biometric authentication wherever applicable.
The administration has prohibited the entry of unauthorised persons within the restricted zone and barred candidates from carrying mobile phones, electronic gadgets, books, notes or any material that could facilitate unfair practices.
Gatherings of more than five persons have also been banned around the centres, while the use of loudspeakers and public address systems will remain prohibited from noon to 6 pm on the day of the examination.
Officials said the restrictions are aimed at preventing external interference and ensuring a transparent and hassle-free examination process. Violators will face action under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.
