Leh: The Delhi Public School (DPS) Leh auditorium came alive with laughter and applause on Friday as the youngest learners of the Pre-Primary Wing donned graduation gowns and caps to mark their transition from UKG to Grade I. The Graduation and Felicitation Ceremony was a cheerful celebration of early learning, drawing enthusiastic participation from parents, teachers, and guests.
The event was attended by District Youth Services and Sports Officer, UT Leh, Mr. Tsering Tashi, who lauded the school’s commitment to nurturing young minds through experiential and joyful learning. Calling the occasion “a delightful sight to see such meaningful learning experiences being shaped at a young stage,” he encouraged the children to “keep blossoming and enjoy learning.”
In her address, Principal Sonal Mediratta congratulated the young graduates and thanked the parents and staff for their support in shaping a warm and enriching learning environment. She underlined that DPS Leh’s approach is closely aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP), focusing on holistic, child-centric education that builds the foundation for lifelong learning.
Mediratta emphasized that the early years are critical for developing motor, sensory, emotional, and social skills, adding that the school’s curriculum blends learning with play to foster creativity, collaboration, and confidence.
The ceremony was filled with emotional moments as parents watched their children receive medals and certificates, celebrating their first academic milestone. Many expressed appreciation for the school’s efforts in providing a nurturing and joyful atmosphere for their wards.
As the event drew to a close, the hall resonated with applause and cheerful chatter. The smiles of the children, the pride of the parents, and the encouragement of the teachers together marked a memorable day — one that celebrated not only progress in education but the promise of bright futures ahead.
The school community also extended special congratulations to Director (Retd) Maj. Gen. Mohinder Kumar Sagoch, whose guidance continues to inspire the institution’s growth and success.
